Weekend getaway treat
Myself and my husband booked a couple of nights in this B&B to catch up with friends in Canterbury over the weekend. Location was excellent and a short walk, about 10 minutes into the city centre. The B&B itself was immaculate. There are renovations going on to the front of the building, however this did not impede access in any way. The entrance was freshly decorated and it was reassuring to see that the lodgings are secure by way of a ring doorbell.
Terry met us on arrival and showed us to our room, which mirrored the rest of the house in its pristine condition.
Terry gave us information about the local area with a handy map identifying our location and surrounding attractions.
Bed was comfortable with additional pillows and blankets in the double wardrobe. Heating was on and had thermostatic control and the towel rail in the bathroom had a switch to allow self operation when required. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room and fresh milk available from the fridge in the breakfast room which is accessible 24/7. Tea cakes and biscuits were replaced daily when the room was being refreshed. This was a nice touch.
Breakfast was a hearty fayre with fresh fruit, croissants and cheeses and preserves freely available with a request for any hot food to be made the night before on a menu slip that was dropped into a basket in the entrance hall the evening before. Cooked English breakfast was fresh local produce and piping hot with additional toast or bread on request if desired.
The host was very attentive and we would definitely recommend staying there, as we may well do on future trips.
Many thanks Kay and Alan
